Nope — we’ve got you covered. All essential gear is provided for guided trips, including fishing equipment, safety gear, and anything else you’ll need for the day. If you have personal items you prefer to use, you're welcome to bring them along — just let us know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.

If the weather turns, we’ll assess conditions and make the safest call. Some trips can go ahead with adjustments, while others may need to be rescheduled. Your safety and comfort come first, and we’ll always communicate clearly and work with you to find the best option — whether that’s a new date or a different kind of adventure

Absolutely — many of our adventures are family-friendly, and kids are welcome on most guided trips. Dogs may be allowed depending on the location and type of outing, but we ask that you check with us first so we can make sure the experience is safe and comfortable for everyone — two-legged and four-legged alike.

We recommend booking at least 1–2 weeks in advance, especially during peak seasons or for custom trips. That gives us time to prep gear, confirm logistics, and make sure your adventure runs smoothly. Last-minute bookings might be possible — just reach out and we’ll do our best to make it happen.

In Northern British Columbia, you can expect to catch a variety of freshwater fish depending on the season, location, and type of water body. Rainbow trout are a favorite among anglers for their fight and beauty, while lake trout thrive in deeper, colder lakes and are known for their size. Kokanee, a landlocked version of sockeye salmon, are fast and feisty, making them a fun challenge. You might also encounter cutthroat trout, bull trout, Dolly Varden, mountain whitefish — and burbot, a bottom-dwelling species often found in cold, deep lakes. Sometimes called freshwater ling, burbot are nocturnal and elusive, offering a unique reward for patient anglers. Yes — if you're planning to fish in British Columbia, you’ll need a valid BC freshwater fishing license. These can be purchased online through the BC Government’s website or at authorized vendors. Be sure to have it with you during your trip, as conservation officers do conduct checks. If you're unsure which license you need, we’re happy to point you in the right direction when you book.

Yes — in most cases, you can keep what you catch, as long as it’s within BC’s fishing regulations for species, size, and daily limits. We’ll help you understand what’s allowed and make sure everything’s done by the book. If you prefer catch-and-release, that’s always an option too.

In many of the remote areas we explore, cell service is limited or unavailable — and that’s part of the appeal. We encourage guests to unplug and enjoy the quiet, but we always prioritize safety with proper communication tools and planning. If staying connected is essential for your trip, let us know and we’ll advise on coverage or alternatives.

What you pack or wear depends on the season and the type of adventure, but there are a few essentials that apply to most trips. Dress in weather-appropriate layers — moisture-wicking base layers, warm mid-layers, and a waterproof outer shell are ideal. Sturdy footwear like hiking boots or waterproof shoes with good grip is a must. Don’t forget a hat and sunglasses for sun protection, along with bug spray and sunscreen. Bring a water bottle, snacks, and any personal items like medications, ID, or your fishing license if needed. For fishing trips, quick-dry clothing and long sleeves work well, and rain gear is always a smart backup. You’re welcome to bring your own rod or tackle, though we provide everything you need. If you're heading into the backcountry or renting gear, a daypack, map or GPS, and a basic emergency kit are recommended. If you're unsure, just ask when booking — we’ll help tailor your packing list to the trip.

Yes — we typically require a deposit to secure your booking. This helps us prepare gear, reserve your spot, and ensure everything’s ready for your adventure. Our cancellation policy is straightforward: we ask for as much notice as possible if your plans change. Cancellations made at least 72 hours before your scheduled trip are eligible for a refund of your deposit. Cancellations within 72 hours may result in a partial or full forfeiture, depending on the circumstances and prep already in place.
